Vietnam Marketing Conference 2009 was held in Ho Chi Minh City today. An annual conference, the main theme of this year was challenging brand managers and marketers to truly ‘Focus & Differentiate’ their brands.
The event assembled 10 key speakers and contributions from over 20 CEO’s and experts working in professional marketing fields. The event this year attracted some 200 attendees from a broad range of industries and brands. Speakers were invited to share their experiences and perspectives.
Marc Gough spoke about the importance of making differentiation strategy central to thinking in brand building and shared a simple ‘how-to’ process on how to differentiate and add real tangible and financial value to a brand.
Marc commented “Let’s look at ourselves, as people we are all different, even though at a functional level we are all built in quite similar ways. What makes us different from each other, and meaningful to each other, are our stories. Brands are like us… As brand builders we should aim to focus on the unique emotional stories that will differentiate our brands.”
