red team help KOTO do ‘MORE’

Blog article entry on: May 9, 2012

On Monday night the red team had the honour of opening the KOTO Graduation Ceremony for Class 16 & 17.

At the most anticipated night of the KOTO calendar, Chris Elkin, Managing Director of red brand builders, shared the stage with celebrity, Jennifer Pham, to officially open the ceremony and introduce this years Graduation theme – ‘MORE’.

As part of the red team’s efforts to give back to those less fortunate than themselves in Vietnam, the team donated their time to create and design the ‘MORE’ concept for KOTO Hanoi.

Take a read of the KOTO Graduation ‘opening speech’ delivered by Chris Elkin below….

“Ambassadors, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, good evening and a very warm welcome to the opening of KOTO Class 16 & 17 Graduation Ceremony.

My name’s Christopher Elkin, I’m the Managing Director of red brand builders, an inspired KOTO fan and supporter since I first met KOTO Founder, Mr Jimmy Pham, some 3 years ago.

I’m feeling extremely honored to be here tonight, to be with all of you (the KOTO family).

Thank you all very much for making time to be here this evening.

As many of you know, tonight is in some ways more than a graduation ceremony; it is the most anticipated night of the KOTO calendar.  A most exciting, emotional and inspiring moment, when we each come together to celebrate and to share in the KOTO graduates’ life-changing accomplishment.

For those of you who don’t know me or red brand builders, we’re a branding consultancy and this is the third year that the red team have come together to help create what we call the KOTO Graduation celebratory ‘theme’.

Looking around us this evening, you can see this year’s brand theme is all about achieving ‘MORE’.

As brand builders, it’s really not every day that we get asked to come up with ideas to help such an inspiring family of people to literally do ‘MORE’ to help those less fortunate to help themselves.

At the heart of brand building, we like to think we create ‘personalities’…

This year, when we really looked hard at what it all means to be a KOTO Student, Graduate, Alumni Member, Sponsor, Supporter and eventual KOTO Graduate employer, we simply kept on coming back to the fact that by supporting KOTO – we – all these personalities together – can simply do “MORE’ together.

I hear some Vietnamese saying “Small steps into the bigger sea” (buoc chan nho ra bien lon)

Well, it’s this bigger sea that we’re here to see KOTO Classes 16 & 17 venture out into this evening….

With their 2 years of KOTO family love, care and training, the graduates are now empowered to ask MORE of themselves as part of a new KOTO family, to do MORE for themselves and ultimately, one day, to complete the virtuous circle and give MORE back to those less fortunate than themselves.

As a little inspiration for our wonderful KOTO Graduates, I’d like to share a simple quote from a writer, William Arthur Ward, on what can be achieved with ‘MORE’ together….

“Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work.”

May I wish you all a wonderful graduation ceremony together with our new KOTO Graduates as they start a new and brighter life.

And remember, together we can and always will do “MORE” together.

Thank you all very much.

We now declare the KOTO Graduation Class of 2012 officially open!”
